At the 20th anniversary of its establishment, MSc Urban Design Program at METU organised an international symposium on urban design on 4-6 October 2016 in Ankara, Turkey. As part of the symposium, an exhibition named as Weaving the City Through the Torn Urban Fabric was made to open the subject of ‘parametric urban morphology and design’ to discussion with researchers, professionals and educators. In the exhibition the works of UD755 Parametric Urban Design course at Spring 2016 semester has been presented to the public with the posters and a large-scale solid model of the project. Having illustrated one of the alternative form of algorithmically controlled development, the model provided a solid basis for a fruitful discussion on the strengths and limitations of parametric design in urbanism within a vivid participation and interest. The critical debate especially made with Professor D. G. Shane put some question forward for the further researches on the topic.
