As an invited speaker, Dr. Olgu Çalışkan gave the public lecture on the new trends and tendencies in urbanism with a special focus on the emerging techniques on parametric urban design in consideration of the expected continuities and ruptures between the already established traditions in urbanism and the new conventions introduced by the novel (i.e. computational, algorithmic) techniques in design. With the participation of the students from Bilkent University, Department of Landscape Architecture and Urban Design, the future implications of the parametric models on the design practice in urbanism have been discussed collectively.
